NAIA & Mid-South Region Defensive Player of the Week

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Mid-South Conference, and Kentucky Christian University are pleased to announce that Andrew Stewart, KCU Knight inside linebacker, is the Defensive Player of the Week for both the conference and the NAIA. In Saturday's victory over Lindsey Wilson College, Andrew led the defensive charge with an impressive line of stats.

He had 14 total tackles, including 2 Quarterback sacks as well as 2 other tackles behind the line of scrimmage; he recovered 1 fumble, and he intercepted 2 passes, the first of which he ran back 21 yards for the first score of the game. Andrew is a junior Education major from Cadiz, Kentucky. He played football at Trigg Co, under head coach Shannon Burcham.

Kentucky Christian University Head Coach Gene Peterson commented: "Andrew has been one of our leading defensive players throughout the entire season. Our defense is strong this year, and he is one of many players making outstanding contributions on the field. He has a deep passion for the game of football, and a strong work ethic both on the field and in the classroom."
