Last Wednesday evening at the National Christian College Athletic Association, Division II Volleyball National Championship Tournament banquet, Kentucky Christian University Head Volleyball coach Bruce Dixon was named as the Coach of the Year for 2013. "Maybe it was the fact that our team had received the #1 seed going into the tournament, or maybe it was because our players earned the 400th win of my career this year, or maybe it was simply because this was my 23rd year of coaching. But for whatever reason, to receive an award like this when it is voted you by your peers is a great honor".

Just days before, Coach Dixon had received the plaque for the Mid-East Region Coach of the Year in the NCCAA-II. He has been the Region Coach of the Year on numerous occasions, and was the National Coach of the Year once previously, in 1994.

"This is really a team award. If the team had not had a great season, why would anyone think that I had done a good job?"
