Bruce Dixon attended local-area Raceland High School, and then Kentucky Christian University, where he played baseball. He graduated from Morehead State University with Bachelors and Masters degrees in the Education field. He began his coaching career at Northwest HS in McDermitt, OH, before returning to KCU to coach baseball. He took over the volleyball program soon after coming back, and has been at the helm of this program for the past 22 of the past 24 seasons.

The Lady Knights volleyball program won Mid-East Region Championships from 2006-2011, and was invited to the National Tournament in 2012, where they tied for third, the best finish in program history. Bruce has been the Mid-East Region Coach of the Year 8 times, and was the NCCAA National Coach of the Year in 1994.

This year, Coach Dixon is presiding over an expansion of the Lady Knight program, with the addition of a Junior Varsity volleyball schedule. "We have been very successful this year in signing new talent, and our roster for 2013 will include over 20 players. We are adding a JV component to our program to give added playing time to speed the development of our players. We expect this decision to positively impact our program in both short- and long-term ways."

He and his wife Donna live in Grayson, and have two sons, Jacob and Luke.
