Cross Country Runs at Nationals

11.10.2012 | Cedarville, OH

The Kentucky Christian University cross country team traveled to Cedarville, OH to compete in the NCCAA National Cross Country Championships Saturday.

KCU was represented by three dedicated and hard working runners, freshman Gavin Krueger, junior Max Mulikin, and senior Greg Liming.

Mulikin set his own personal best time of the 2012 season at Nationals with a time of 37:05. Krueger remained at his normal pace with a time of 33:15. Liming finished out his fall cross country career at Kentucky Christian University with a time of 31:49.

First year head coach Willis Johnson was pleased with his team’s efforts. “It was a good year, a tough one but really good. We sustained a lot of injuries, lost a few runners for the whole season due to injury. Once you are out in the middle of a season for a few weeks it is tough to get back into your normal running form and shape, but the guys never quit. I was very blessed to have the runners that I did in my first year as the head coach. We are working hard to improve individually and as a team. We will continue to run in some spring track meets and encourage anyone interested in running to contact me.”

If you would like more information about the spring track meets and the KCU cross country team you can contact head coach Willis Johnson by calling him at 606-255-0297 or dropping a note in his KCU mailbox Box 749.
