Men’s Basketball Struggles on Final Day of Super 8
The Kentucky Christian University men’s basketball team played the final game of the Super 8 Classic Saturday night against the Georgetown College JV team. After a grueling week of 4 games in 5 days the Knights struggled and weren’t able come away with the victory, losing 76-100.
It has been a long week for the Knights, traveling to Alice Lloyd Tuesday and playing three games in a row Thursday, Friday and Saturday, it was made even longer when there were 51 fouls called in Saturday night’s game. KCU had 29 fouls called against them alone, 20 in the second half. Fouls aren’t the reason they lost though.
It is tough to win a ball game when you have 24 turnovers and allow the other team to shoot more than 58% from the field, and the Knights did just that.
Kentucky Christian’s three returners have remained fairly consistent throughout the early part of the season, being the floor leaders for the team. Junior Ace Puckett had 14 points and 8 rebounds, senior Dave Darden had 14 points and 7 rebounds and senior Clay McKinzie had 15 points.
The Knights are in action again this weekend at the Berea College Classic.
