Knight Basketball Opens at Cincinnati Christian Classic
On Friday the Knight basketball team traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio to play their opener, as part of the Cincinnati Christian University Classic. KCU had drawn host CCU on the first day of play. The Knights were outscored in the first half 54-30, but put in 46 in the second half, against CCU's 47. The Knights were led in scoring by freshman Caleb Ford with 24, including 3 of 3 from behind the arc. Sophomore Trevor Hunt and junior transfer Tyler Farley each put in 15. Dylan Genung had 10. Hunt was the leading rebounder with 7. KCU shot 13 of 19 from the foul line, but hit 58% from three-point land. Cincinnati Christian was led in scoring by Mitch McLeish with 21, Michael Hill with 19, and Kenny Gaynor with 18. They shot 56% from the floor, but were only 2/13 from 3 point range.
On Saturday, the Knights took on the Bearcats of Brescia University, and fell to them 82-76.
