Knights at Valley Forge Christian College Classic
It has been a tough season thus far for the Knights, and when they seemed to be finding their way, another problem rears it head. This weekend, at the Valley Forge Christian College Classic, Dylan Genung suffered an injury in the second game of the weekend, and he saw no more action for the remainder of the tournament. And when a team that is just finding its way looses their point guard, it is a set back.
KCU fell on Thursday to Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College from Oklahoma, 83-75; on Friday they lost to Lincoln Christian University of Lincoln, Illinois, 85-73; and they dropped a game on Saturday to host Valley Forge Christian College, 80-68.
Over the weekend, the Knights were led by Caleb Ford, who had 84 points and 29 rebounds. Ace Puckett had 34 points, and 25 boards, as well as 5 assists and a team-high 9 steals. Tyler Farley dropped in 32 points, and he had 12 boards, 9 assists, and 4 steals. Adam Hopkins had 22 points and 6 assists. Genung had 17 points, 4 boards, 6 assists and 2 steals, despite playing only the first game and about 5 minutes of the second game.
The Knights record moves to 1-8, and they will be in action next on Tuesday, December 3, against Alice Lloyd College, at 8 PM in Grayson.
