Knights Fall To Kuyper at Ohio Christian
On Saturday, January 11, the Knights resumed their 2013-14 season with a trip to Circleville, OH and the campus of Ohio Christian University to take on the Cougars of Kuyper College of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Cougars came into the game at 10-7 after having fell to Ohio Christian 97-94 on Friday evening.
The Cougars scored the first points of the game, and KCU never managed to tie the game or take a lead, but things remained close throughout. At the half, the Knights was at 43-37, after KCU had been down by 14 at one point. Both teams scored 46 in the second half, with the final being KCU 83 to Kuyper's 89.
The Knights were led in scoring by Caleb Ford with 26, who was 9 of 24 from the floor, including 4 of 9 from behind the arc. He was perfect from the line with 8 of 8 shooting, and his 13 boards gave him the double-double. Tyler Farley had 17, including 9 from three point range. Dylan Genung had 14 and 5 boards, while Ace Puckett dropped in 11 and pulled down 8. Sal Hermiz, Kuyper guard, had 27, and their center, Kyle Hoek, dropped in 20. The Knights are now 1-10 on the season.
The Knights will be in action on Tuesday at Ohio Christian against the NCCAA-II #1 Trailblazers.
