Knights Stumble at Boyce College
The Knights traveled to Louisville on Tuesday to take on the Boyce Bulldogs in the final regular-season conference game. The Knights had already secured the #2 seed in the post-season regional tournament, but still needed to win against Boyce, the likely #3 seed. KCU struggled from the floor, and lost the rebounding battle to the Bulldogs. The Knights were down by 2 at the half, at 43-45, but gave up 6 points more than the 54 they scored in the second half, and fell to Boyce 97-105. This brings about a possible meeting next Friday in the Region Tournament semi-final round.
The Knights were led in scoring by Caleb Ford with 30 points, followed by Tyler Farley with 20, Dylan Genung with 17 and Trevor Hunt with 15. Hunt double-doubled by pulling down 15 boards, including 6 from the offensive glass. Puckett and Genung each had 5 rebounds. KCU Men's basketball is now 12-14 on the season, and play West Virginia University -- Parkersburg at home on Friday evening at 8 PM.
