KCU Football Signs Erick Sampson

On Thursday, January 16, 2014, Kentucky Christian University signed east Tennessee football standout Erick Sampson to
the Knight Football team.

Erick is a 6' 210 lb. linebacker from Tennessee High School in Bluff City, Tennessee, near Bristol. He has garnered many high school football awards, including: All-East Tennessee, Big 7 Conference Defensive Player of the Year, 1st Team All Conference, Shriner's Most Valuable Defensive Player, the Power T Award, and FCA Athlete of the Year. Erick has a Nike SPARQ rating of 95.9. Erick chose to come to KCU after considering offers from several other schools, including Tulane University, Eastern Carolina, Carson-Newman University, and NAIA Mid-South Conference opponents Lindsey Wilson and University of the Cumberlands.

Present at the signing ceremony were: KCU President Dr. Jeff Metcalf, KCU Football Recruiting Coordinator James Gibson, Erick Sampson, Erick's parents Travis and Jennifer, grandparents Lonnie and Louise, brothers, Trevor and Gabriel, and Pine Flats First Baptist Church Youth Pastor Gary Roe.
