KCU's Jabriel Siler Drafted into Pro Football
Kentucky Christian University is proud to announce that recent graduate Jabriel Siler has been drafted into the American Indoor Football League (AIFL) by the Cleveland Patriots. In the first draft of 2014, held on February 21, Jabriel was the overall 25th pick of the 35 player draft. Jabriel is the first KCU football player drafted into the professional ranks in the six year history of KCU football.
The AIFL was first formed in 2005, and has grown and changed form somewhat during each season. This season the league will feature 7 teams, and besides the Cleveland Patriots, will have the York Capitals, Atlanta Sharks, Baltimore Mariners, Cape Fear Heroes, Rochester Raiders and Washington Eagles. The first game for the Patriots will be Saturday, March 22nd, at the Metroplex in Cleveland, OH. The Patriots will play 8 regular-season games, 5 of them at home, with away games at Rochester, NY (2), and Atlanta, GA.
Coach Gene Peterson said about Jabriel, "He is a strong player and a fine young man. He plays with a lot of heart, and he's been a leader in our program both on and off the field. It is no surprise that he has made an impression in front of the pro scouts. We are excited for him to be drafted, and wish him the best in his professional career."
