Men's Soccer Senior Day Match

10.16.2013 | Kentucky Christian University -- Grayson, KY

On Tuesday the Mountaineers of Berea College came to Knight Stadium to do battle with the men's soccer team for it's final home match of the season, and for Senior Day. Seniors Caleb Yankey, Levi Pennington, and Koty Buck were recognized and honored for their contributions to the KCU Men's Soccer program. Berea College came into the match with a record of 6-7, and with big wins over several common opponents, including Cincinnati Christian University and Southern State Community College.

But the Knights were prepared for the match, and were hopeful of getting the win for the seniors. It was a hard-fought match, played mostly in the mid-field, and with neither team giving up many shots. Berea was able to fire a total of 10 shots on the day, with only 3 of them on-goal. The Knights managed 3 shots with only 1 on-goal. In the 55th minute of play, Berea's Daniel Carey found the net for the only score of the game. Neither team took a corner kick during the match, and there were no cards issued.

On Friday, the Knights travel to the Knoxville, TN area to take on Johnson University on Friday and The Crown College on Saturday.
