Thrasher Signs with KCU
Charlestown Lady Pirate Senior Basketball player Taylor Thrasher recently signed a letter of intent to attend and play women’s basketball at Kentucky Christian University, located in Grayson, Kentucky. Like her sister Kelsie (CHS Class of 2005), Taylor will wear #42 and play NCCAA Lady Knight Basketball after graduating Charlestown this spring and beginning KCU this coming fall. Taylor has played varsity Lady Pirate Basketball four years, including experiencing a Sectional Championship her freshman year. Taylor and her family are “excited” about the opportunities available while playing ball at KCU. “I know I’ll receive an excellent education there (KCU), and can’t wait to continue playing basketball in college”, commented Taylor after the signing. Lady Pirate Basketball Coach Sam Terrell added that he is “always pleased to see hard work and effort pay off” for high school athletes. Coach Arnett, who also coached Taylor’s sister at KCU, commented that it’s a “thrill to recruit student athletes like Taylor”, adding that he knows she is a “great kid, from a super family”. Coach Arnett explained that KCU not only prides itself on the successes of their athletic programs, but also the “focus on athletes graduating with a degree”.
