Lady Knight Basketball Wins Moody Bible Insitute Classic

This weekend the Lady Knights traveled to LaSalle, Illinois in the Chicago area to play in the Moody Bible Institute Classic. On Friday, KCU played the host school while NCCAA-II region rival Ohio Christian took on Central Christian College of the Bible. KCU defeated Moody by a score of 88-60, and then on Saturday, took down Ohio Christian in the championship game 76-59. Tanya Bowens was selected as the tournament MVP.

Tanya led the scoring for KCU with 49 on the weekend, followed by Sharonda Jones with 38 and Jana Glick with 32. Allie Slone dropped in 13, Jessica Marshall had 10, Jerrah Epling had 5, Paige Warren had 3 and Katherine Raines had a bucket. Sharonda lead the rebounding with 11, Bowens had 8 and Glick had 7. Bowens and Meyer each had 6 assists on the weekend. As a team, KCU had 20 turnovers on the weekend, but also recorded 21 assists.

KCU hosts Midway College on Tuesday evening at 7 PM.
