Lady Knights Downed by Ohio Christian University
On Tuesday evening the Lady Knights traveled to Circleville, OH to take on the Trailblazers of Ohio Christian University in the first regional match of the season. The Lady Knights got off to a good start, and lead by 16 at the half, 51-35. But Ohio Christian changed the game in the second half, and managed to pull even with KCU. The second half ended at 84-84, and in the overtime period, OCU outscored the Lady Knights 9-6, finishing at 90-93.
KCU was led in scoring by Tanya Bowens' 36 points. She shot 50% from the field, and was 6 of 11 from the foul line. Sharonda Jones dropped in 19, much of which came on 11 of 15 shooting from the foul line. Jana Glick had another double-double with 11 points and 10 boards, while Jessica Marshall pulled down 11 boards to go with her 7 points. Monica Stevens had 8 points. KCU shot only .477 for the game, after firing for .593 in the first half. The Lady Knights were only .667 from the line, and had 14 turnovers to only 10 assists.
The Lady Knights host Johnson University at 1 PM on Saturday.
