Lady Knights Victorious at Parkersburg
On Tuesday evening both Knight basketball teams traveled to northern West Virginia to take on WVU-Parkersburg. Both teams came away victorious, and the women won decisively over their host.
The Lady Knights were up by 30 at the half, and outscored WVU-Parkersburg by 9 points in the second half, eventually closing the book at 101-62. It was another stellar night for Tanya Bowens, who had 8 assists and scored 39 points on 5-6 shooting from the arc and 17 of 24 shooting overall. Sharonda Jones dropped in 21 points, shooting .555 from the floor, and pulling down 8 rebounds, and passing out 7 assists. Jana Glick recorded another double-double, with 18 points and 13 rebounds, 7 of which were on the offensive glass. Monica Stevens came up just short of the double-double, with 9 and 9, while Taylor Conn dropped in 9 points on 3 treys. Paige Warren had 2 points, while Jessica Marshall had 5 assists. KCU had 29 assists and 17 steals, while giving up only 10 turnovers. They are now 15-9 on the season, and are next in action on Tuesday night, at Hillsboro, OH at 5:30 PM, taking on Southern State Community College. The Thursday evening game that was to be made up with Midway College on 2-13-14 has been cancelled.
