Lady Knights Struggle at Cincinnati
In their fourth away game in a row Kentucky Christian traveled to Xavier University field to take on NAIA opponent, Cincinnati Christian University. Cincinnati controlled the ball early and often, keeping it in their half for the majority of the game. CCU had 23 shots on the night, 12 of which were on goal and four found the back of the net.
When KCU had a few good runs they just weren’t able to get much out of them, they did capitalize on their one shot for the evening, when #18 Kymmy Owens had a break away and scored with 30 minutes left to go in the game.
Head Coach Joshua Miller is optimistic about his team’s future, despite the recent struggles, “Tonight's game looked a lot like the last few games where we have struggled to play a full 90 minutes. We have had a long section of away games and are finally sitting back with some time to refocus and recover a bit. I have no doubt my team will work hard over the next week and be read for two big region games late next week.”
The Lady Knights are off until Friday, October 5th when they host Johnson University at 2pm.
The men’s soccer team traveled to Cincinnati but their game was canceled due to the weather. They are in action again Monday when they travel back to Southern State to make up the game that was canceled earlier in the season.
