The National Christian College Athletic Association recently announced the NCCAA-II Soccer Awards for the 2013 season. Three Lady Knight players from Kentucky Christian University were honored.
Erin Dillow is a mid-fielder for the Lady Knights, and was the leading scorer in 2013. She was named to the NCCAA-II Second Team All-America squad for the second time. Erin is a sophomore from South Point, OH, and is studying Nursing. Coach Joshua Miller had this to say about Erin: "Erin is such a talented and gifted athlete. She works hard and I enjoy watching her compete. I am privileged to be her coach and have her in my program. She has continued to grow and mature into a very talented young woman. Erin has been consistently ranked in the top of the nation in points. She has proven that she can compete and excel against any opponent."
Rebecca Sanicola and Staci Proudfoot were named NCCAA-II Scholar-Athletes. The criteria for this distinction is junior standing and a GPA of 3.4 or better. Rebecca is a senior from Frederick, Maryland, and she will graduate in the spring with a degree in Social Work. Staci Proudfoot is a junior defender from Hurricane, WV. She is studying Business Management and Accounting.
Coach Joshua Miller had this to say about the Scholar-Athlete Honor bestowed upon his players: "Both of these young women have grown in their knowledge of the game and their level of play over the last few years. Our program is more than just what happens on the field. We also want the girls to leave not only with a great education but well rounded and ready to pursue whatever is next in life. I always love when our athletes have the opportunity to be honored for more than just playing soccer. I am proud of Staci's and Rebecca's success in the classroom. I have so many talented young women on my team. Soccer is a great platform to teach life lessons and build relationships. What an honor to be recognized for their success. Congratulations ladies!"
