Lady Knights Struggle to Defeat a Tough Johnson Team

9.22.2012 | Knoxville, TN

After a close battle against The Crown College, Coach Bruce Dixon was hoping his volleyball Knights would wake up and be ready to compete against Johnson today, and they were. KCU came away with the 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-13, 25-23).

The Lady Knights looked as though they were going to drop their first set in region play, when Johnson got up 20-15 in the third set, but Kentucky Christian was able to fight back and get the 25-23 win in the set.

Coach Dixon was pleased with the day’s efforts and result; “We played much better today and Johnson proved they will be a huge factor in the region. This was a big win on their court and really helps us toward our goal of being the #1 seed in the Mid-East Region.”

Mid-East Region rival Ohio Christian comes to Kentucky Christian on Tuesday for the final match of the first half of regional play. “OCU is going to be a tough battle, but if we show up and play like I know we can, we can come away with the victory.”
