KCU Stands Alone at the Top Spot in the Mid-East
Fans saw rivalry at its finest tonight as the Lady Knights hosted Ohio Christian for a close and competitive game. Tonight’s match-up would determine the number one team in the Mid-East region.
KCU won their first against OCU’s tough defense, at 25-18. The Trailblazers showed their offensive skills in the second set, but the Lady Knights were able to win the second match 25-20. Both teams fought hard throughout the third match with KCU winning the last and third match at 25-16.
Head Coach Bruce Dixon talked about the night’s atmosphere and competition, “Basically both teams played hard. The atmosphere in the gymnasium was amazing. There is no doubt in my mind why Ohio Christian has been successful, because of the way they play. Tonight, they played together and they are a well-coached team. If people had not seen the match live and they only saw the final score they might think that KCU was able to run away with it, but it was a tough, competitive match and we had to fight for every single point.”
The Lady Knights travel to Chicago for the Moody Bible Tournament this weekend.
