KCU Wins A Close Match Against Johnson
The Lady Knights were tested today while playing against Johnson University. Johnson proved that they came to play and wanted to be the first Mid-East team to defeat KCU this season. Kentucky Christian dropped the first set to Johnson 25-22 and they were not happy with that result.
The Lady Knights came together as a team and was able to take hold of the second set by playing together as a team. KCU was able to win the second set 25-14. The third set proved to be just as competitive for both teams, and KCU was able to end it 25-15. It appeared that a fifth match would be need to be played as both teams were showing their highest competitive spirit. KCU clinched the victory by winning the fourth and final set of the game 25-21.
Coach Dixon commented, “Even though we were a little banged up, we were able to win against a team that played well defensively. Our players were able to fill in for those injuries and play together as a team. Hopefully we can get healed up before our next game on Tuesday against ABC.”
The Lady Knights will have their last home game for the season against Appalachian Bible College on Tues. Oct. 9th @6PM. The Lady Knights will be promoting Breast Cancer Awareness with a “Dig For A Cure” theme for the game. Free T-shirts will be given away to the first 50 students arriving at the game.
