KCU Volleyball Receives #1 Seed Into National Championship Tournament
On Saturday the Lady Knights volleyball team cemented their claim to the NCCAA-II regional crown by defeating Ohio Christian University in a hard-fought 5-set match. On Monday evening, KCU won another victory, when the National Championship Tournament committee awarded the seeding into the tournament.
The tournament brackets have not been released yet, but Kentucky Christian University was the picked as the overall #1 seed in the National Championship Tournament. KCU has participated in "Nationals" for each of the past 6 seasons, and on a few occasions prior to that, but they have never been honored with a #1 seeding. The brackets will not be released until this weekend, pending the outcome of one Regional Champion's conference tournament.
Coach Bruce Dixon had this to say about the selection: "While this is a source of satisfaction for our program, it pretty effectively puts a target on our back. Being the #1 seed means that we will likely see everyone's best game."
The NCCAA-II National Championship Tournament is being hosted by Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois, and will be contested Thursday - Saturday, November 14-16.
