Lady Knight Volleyball at NCCAA-II Nationals

11.14.2013 | Lincoln, Illinos

The Lady Knight Volleyball program has been busy winning things since they departed on Tuesday for the National Championship tournament. On Wednesday evening, 3 KCU players were named to the NCCAA/American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Squads. Lauren Dunn, junior setter, from Lucasville, OH, is a two-time selection to this team. Magen Daniel, junior middle hitter, from Paintsville, KY, was a Second Team All-America last season. Junior Middle Hitter Jenna Kelley was selected to the Second Team. In addition, long-time KCU coach Bruce Dixon was selected as the NCCAA-II National Coach of the Year, an award that he has won once previously.

In action on Thursday, the Lady Knights defeated Providence University College, the #9 seed, 3-0, and then Cairn University, the #5 seed, 3-2. KCU will face #8 Ozark Christian College in the morning, and #4 Manhattan Christian in the evening. A victory in either match should guarantee them passage into the Final Four.

Congratulations Lady Knight Volleyball.
